Assistant Chef – Central London

 Job Type: Full time, live out Assistant Chef

Location: London, SW3

A flexible, live-out Chef required to start in Mid-April 2019.

Salary:                       £32,000.00 – £35,000.00 per annum; salary dependant on experience. Excellent working conditions in a wonderful household.

Hours:                        Initially working Wednesday to Sunday which will move them to a Saturday to Wednesday working week after confidence has been gained.

10am to roughly 3pm depending on lunch service then 5pm till finish which is typically 10.30pm.

Days off:                   Monday and Tuesday moving to Thursday and Friday

Holidays:                  28 days including Bank Holidays.

Notes                         There will be travel with the role, initially over the summer to our Spanish residence and hopefully other properties once more established within the team. A live-in option is potentially negotiable for the right candidate.

Job Description

Chef Duties: The Head Chef’s style is classical French cooking with a hint of Mediterranean. The role supports the Head Chef, learns his recipes and keeps the Kitchen in working order from top to bottom. Over time as the assistant Chef gains the confidence of the Head Chef, the assistant will have some sole charge and support the Head Chef’s days off, so the principals have complete cover for the week.

General Requirement:

A friendly, hard-working, trustworthy and honest person required who has common sense and takes initiative. Needs to have a flexible attitude and be good working within a team. Classical training is important, and a driving license is desired. Someone who is discreet, unobtrusive and able to respect the family’s privacy.

Excellent written and spoken English is required. Non-smoking work environment. Experience working as a chef in a domestic household is desired, but in this case, training is preferred over experience. Candidates must have verbally checkable, relevant references from previous employers or from senior teachers with first hand knowledge of the candidate’s skills and attitude.
